Who Is FaceDaZoe?
“As a young child I always listened to music. Never did I imagine the day I would become an International Artist. But God had other plans for me. As long as God was the center of everything I did, no matter how frightening it seemed, I made sure to trust Him anyway. As I continued to build and maintain my relationship with God, my journey was much clearer for what I have been destined to do.
Like most household upbringings, growing up in a single-parent home in the rough streets of the Pinewood neighborhood in West Palm Beach Florida, the influence of my environmental surroundings affected me dearly. But the beauty in it was that I didn’t allow it to define me of who and who’s I was.
Raw And Uncut
My music reflected what was going on the streets with a glimpse of what I endured to show that it’s not what is cut out to be. The violence, the negativity and whaling of mothers, fathers mourning over their children: it was real…
My first musical experience was through my big brother’s best friend rap group, Royal Fam (which was later changed to Dead End). They were creating a buzz locally and I admired the lifestyle they lived from what came out of it, which made me crave what they had at the time. However, during my senior year in high school, I would later learn that what I craved for was a dynamic series of events that would bring such pain.
My brother and his best friend were murdered. Their absence made it clear that the street life only would lead to a dead end. After losing other friends to the streets, cousins from the prison system and close relatives passing me by, I decided to transition out of that lifestyle and onto college.”
